Successful Enterprise Applications

Welcome back,  this week’s topic is in relation to companies that used enterprise applications successfully to support their business strategy and business model.

The resources I used were marketing91.com,  peoplemanagingpeople.com, businessmodelanalyst.com, ERPresearch.com

 Starbucks:

Starbucks business strategy is to provide a premium customer experience emphasising high quality products and welcoming atmosphere of third place, a place away from home and work. It is an American coffeehouse chain and coffee company, serving a wide range of hot and cold drinks along with snacks.

Starbucks business model is to distribute the American coffee company and coffeehouse chain to over 30,000 locations worldwide.

Starbucks use an ERP system called Oracle ERP, this is a cloud based software, that is used within the day to day activities of the business, it is a management software that includes supply chain management, financial management and project management it provides for customer relationship management(CRM) enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM)

Amazon:

Amazon’s business strategy is to priorities the customer experience above all else, this is shown in one of the best streaming services Amazon prime, where personal recommendations are made, next day delivery which enhance customers due to the convenience.

Their business model is based on ecommerce and the internet, totally focusing on the customer where people can find and discover anything they want to buy.

Amazon uses an ERP system called SAP, this system manages the stock levels, initiates automatic replenishment orders, manages dual third party and direct order fulfilments, it also handles millions of sales and customer interactions every day.

Tesla:

Tesla’s developed a distinctive strategy for the market, instead of developing a relatively affordable car that could mass produce and market they created an attractive car that would generate demand for electric vehicles.

Tesla’s business model focuses on direct to consumer as they sell directly to the consumer, eliminating the middleman such as dealerships, and now offering their own charging station network. Tesla’s is known for the sale of electric cars.

The ERP system Tesla uses was created in house by them called Warp. Tesla’s entire operational and financial system is completely generated through Warp, this enables real time, collaborative and synced operations to allow for a seamless workflow across their departments.

Talk to you next week,

Katie 😊
